Hi, can anyone tell me, is there anything apart from brufen that will lower the inflamation in the blood, I am waiting for an appointment for the skeletal clinic, but was wondering if you can lower the inflamation,

Inflammation in the "blood?" I think that you mean inflammation in the affected tissue...muscle or joint.

Ibuprofen probably has the most anti-inflammatory properties, but you need to take the correct dose and that depends upon the problem that is existing.

Gout, osteo-arthritis may need 600mgs of Ibuprofen 6 hourly whereas a sprain of a joint may need less.

Steroids are anti-inflammatory, but can only be prescribed by a doctor.

Thank you squad, doc thinks its rhumatoid arthritis, it just all of a sudden came on, my joints are all swollen in my hands, and my thumbs are especially bad they click and stick in a position and then ping to open, they really hurt, I am 41, thanks anyway, x
Sounds like a polyarthritis of which there are many causes......he will do a barrage of blood tests/
