hen night dilemmas!

I'm organising a hen party for my best friend in 2 weeks time - and I'm sure like most "only" bridesmaids I am getting more and more frazzled the closer it comes! To make it harder, I've been trying to organise it from the other side of the world via emails etc and could do with some advice from any of you out there! We are meeting at the bride's mum's house for snacks and drinks and the opening of presents, and then for those who are keen to join us out afterwards, we're off to a local bar / club. My concern is that the majority of ladies coming are people that I don't know and are a little older (ie friends of the family etc) and my friend is quite keen on some typical hen night games at the house before we go out. It is also on a thursday, 2 days before her wedding on the saturday so no all nighters! My only fear is is that I've been to a hen night where the games backfired (they were not anything too naughty either!) because of some disapproving older guests, and I really don't want to have the same situation. I also don't want her hen night to be a total bore either and am just hoping that everyone will just put in the effort for the night and go with the flow. Does anyone have any good hen party games or ideas that will not totally offend anyone or make anyone uncomfortable, but still have that little bit of a "hen night" feel to it?!

smileyhappy, what a lovely friend you must be! Can I suggest that you get on to the guests and consult them? Presumably they all want the bride to have a good time. If you ask them to suggest games, they will suggest games that they will feel that they can go along with....and some of the old'uns might surprise you!!!

Another thought is to have a similar chat with the bride's mum if the guests are likely to be her friend or of her generation.

Good Luck!!

here's a website. Some of the games are quite geeky but there are a few good ones that are only a bit naughty

When I planned a bachelorette party for a good friend, one game that everyone seemed to enjoy was a word search puzzle.  Instead of the ususal bridal terms (like "veil" and "flower girl"), I used words like "drudgery", "dirty dishes", etc.  I also didn't give a list of words that were hidden, they just had to find them.

Another game was "pin the apron on the husband."  (There are more vulgar versions of this, but we had some elderly aunts in the crowd!)  We put up a poster of someone...I can't remember, it was some actor popular at the time....and had made a cut-out of an appropriately sized apron.  Then, like "pin the tail on the donkey", you blindfold the person, spin them round, and see how close they can come to domesticating their husband by pinning the apron in the appropriate place.

Give all the guests jellie vodkas (always goes down well and the old ones aint got a clue what they r having until they r 2 drunk 2 notice!, Instead of pin the tail on the donkey pin the **** on the bloke!  Give them names like miss furry fanny and miss muff diver and give them all a task 2 do. Get a load of balloons fill them with a load of tasks , they have 2 pick a colour and burst it and do the task inside, Thats about all i can think of hope this is of help?
