pen as eyeliner

if you use a permanent marker as eyeliner, will it harm you/your eye?

Hi Penny - personally, I wouldn't use a permanent marker pen near my eyes. Not only would it be a b*gger to get off, it would make your eyes sore - especially with all the chemicals in it.

Ditto what smudge said.  Skin near the eye is the most sensitive on the body.  Don't mess with it!  Plus permanent marker evaporates quickly and it stinks.  The smell makes me think that the gases coming off it wouldn't make friends with your eyes too well.

Good grief! you are not serious, I shudder to think what damage it could do to your eye's. PLEASE dont try it, your eye's are a sensitive area.  :-(

I was just wondering, as my sister always used to use it but, as of yet, it hasn't had any kind of effect. I thought that it must do something because of the smell & evaporation time - like acw said but her eyes are fine at the moment.

Ooooh - well personally I'd try to encourage my sis (I don't have a sis, I mean if I were you and thus your sis were my sis - ARGH - confused!!!!) - to stop asap. 

Anyway, my Mum recently had a free make over at one of the consessions in House of Fraser and the woman told her that eye liner wasn't fashionable at the moment anyway.  Doesn't stop me!  That said, surely permanent marker would give you the Lindsey Lohan verging on Goth look!?!

I've never tried this - and I've done a lot of risky things in the name of beauty - but I have it on authority it will make your eyes water but will stay put much better than eyeliner.

hi there, if you really like wearing eye liner and want a more permanent look you could have it tattooed on. Quite a few beauty salons offer permanent lip/eye/eyebrow treatments. It does cost a bit but think it'd be much better than a marker pen.
