how/where did I shoot myself in the foot mamylynne?
BBC News now Pixi.
Sorry, wrong thread.
Gran , what you have not done is expanded your hypothesis, what is your actual question ?
Gran67 - Please excuse this intrusion.

Lie-in King - Good morning, the 'indoors ever since' thing? Quite frankly my dear, I don't believe you :-)
True dat
Question Author
Mamalynn, my question is as above.
To me there is not much difference between OAP homes and creches.
Then you haven't got a clue...
Hi warty! "My dear"? How charming... :-)
Question Author
who? me ummm?
Yes, you.

What do you think they do? Strap children up all day?
You still do not post your extensive knowledge of either of those, I am extremely lucky (or unfortunate) my father died young, I nursed my Mother at home till she died as I did with my Husband - my children went to playgroups to socialise.

I have known many people who haave both good and bad experiences with both.
Don't try and evade the issue Lie-in King. Have you been back in the pub?
I've never known a nursery to ignore the requirements. I find that most people that work with youngsters are committed to providing high-quality childcare.
Question Author
God no, I never said they strap children in, is that what they do in the OAP homes?
Wind up merchant , night .
warty - I'll never evade an issue (I might ignore a few) - yes, I've been back & have learned to ignore anything that Bobby Liar tells me (I think I should have have been tipped off by the name...)

Night all, have fun & be well :-)
My dad used to run an OAP home. I can't comment in detail about the care, as I was quite young at the time. The only involvement I ever had was playing the piano and violin to the old dears in the evenings. I remember feeling warmth and kindness between the carers and the oldies. When someone 'went', they'd have a celebration of their life in the home with proper party niblets and music etc. I remember seeing my dad cry a couple of times when one of the oldies time was up.

TV portays too many baddies. There are carers that actually care
