Gagging

I take several pills daily, mostly small ones which I manage to swallow.
One pill makes me gag like crazy, Artovastin 80mg, any advice how to cope please ?

Lol..I've got one or two odd bits of dental work .I gag every day when I clean my teeth .

I loathe the dentist headwreck .I'm heaving before I even cross the threshold .
I suffer a lot with sinus and cattarrh which makes it even worse .

I panic and can't breathe through my nose for some reason .It's ridiculous.
I have a bridge on my top teeth and when they shove that gunge in your mouth ..omg ...
It's probably from having the gas as a child ;that awful smell and I remember being sick everywhere .Every time I go to the dentist I think I must get a grip but I'm a quivering wreck ..lol.

If you tolerate milk try taking your pills with that (full fat is best) it coats your mouth and throat and they slide down easily.
I know some will say there are pills you shouldn't take with milk but I honestly don't see what harm a couple of mouthfulls would do. Have a good drink of water once they're down.

I find it much easier to swallow tablets with something solid rather than liquid.
Take a bite of bread or biscuit or whatever, chew it until you're just about to swallow then pop the pill into your mouth. It will get lost in the chewed up stuff and go down without you noticing anything.
Worth asking the pharmacist if there is a liquid formulation for your medication then speaking to your GP.
The pharmacist can only dispense what is written on the prescription so you might also try your GP for smaller sized tablets.
As she/he presumably wants you to have these tablets, your GP should be sympathetic .
