I'll get straight to the point, without mincing words, and however blokeish this may sound, what body language cues will give away a girl who's up for it?

No militant feminists armed with rusty scissors need reply. Thanks!

Regardless of what body language replies you get, this will ony indicate flirting, like registering an interest. This doesn't actually mean she is "up for it".

I would say the signals that she is "up for it" are: removal of clothing and application of contraception. Anything else is just flirting. Women are very different to men.

On the other hand, a "lady" with hand on hip, fag in mouth, hard-faced scowl, pacing up and down the same stretch of pavement for hours on end, probably at night, in the company of other such "ladies" would probably be "up for it" !!

Now you know what to look for ....

In my experience, girls that are up for it will generally be upfront and make the first move.
Up for what?
Good one Gilli.
Neither a girl, or a militant feminist, Andy008, but I read this and just wondered if you were kidding or been reading too much FHM.

The question suggests that women put on some sort of display when they are ready to mate, and whilst this true of the animal world human sexuality is far more complex. Whilst there remains physical reactions when we are attracted to another person (enlarged irises, sweating, palpitations and facial flushing) these are present in both men and women and not a green light to assume that anyone is willing to have sex.
Ahh sex, thank you hinge. I thought it could be a game of pool, darts or maybe a car race round the beach!
Scarlett, Gilli, you guys should be anthropologists! No rusty scissors, just neat little stilettos!
i am with andy008 here, well in a toned down way, i am not sure what girls show interest in u and which dont! i am not wanting the "up for it "sorts here, as andy obviously has needs! but how do u know if a girl fancies u or at least would like u to come over and chat her up, and what would be the best way to chat up a girl without using those terrible never-working chatup lines? i know u have to be yourself but what on earth do u say to break the ice and get to the point where u are able to be yourself? hope that sounds better than wanting a girl thats gagging for it haha

Twiglet, girls like confident guys who engage them in normal conversation and show an interest in them as people.  Plenty of eye contact and smiles are very important as well.  Real turn offs are guys who show off in front of their mates and those who are really obvious, loud and lewd.  Well, that's my opinion.

Scarlett and Gilli are spot on with their replies to Andy.

thanks FP for that, but i am still lost on the normal conversation? how do u be more like an anthony from big brother and attract a girl with the first 2 mins of conversation rather than be the eugene of big brother and bore them with something tedious?

what would be a great 2 minute opener for a conversation then? do's and dont's of the first conversation to break the ice?

I always liked the opener "Do you come here often?" - is it still used? There's so much that can be done with it, or could be done with it!
Well, Andy, nobody seems very keen to give you a straight answer to an honest question, so I'll have to tell you the answer even though I'm a guy. The signs / body language of a receptive female are:  smiling, playing with her hair, looking you in the eye, bending a leg. Hope I've helped.
Romeo, that just means a girl is flirting and interested in a guy.  It certainly doesn't mean that she's 'up for it'.  Most girls behave in this way when they like a guy.

Twiglet.  Just say 'Hi, what's your name, I'm Twigs and have noticed you this evening and think you have a great smile' (or something similar).  No need to talk about anything too serious.  Smile at her and offer her a drink and act confidently but quietly. And don't crack jokes - it's real turn off.

Put your MP3 (or whatever) on loud and play "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir" and show her your book of Japanese etchings.
lol Artful, I was wondering if anybody knew what body language clues to look for in a man who was not up for it

Andy,

It is not possible to answer your question unless you tell us a bit about what you look like. Are you a rugged male (hard jawline, browridge, cheekbones) or do you have a softer, more feminine face?

Do you know the answer?
