Yeh, just heard it on the News, it no longer comes as a surprise though, does it?

The Republic clothes chain. It has 121 stores and around 2500 employees.
TBH I think it`s as much as the store going out of fashion than because of the recession. Youth fashion is a very fickle market and newcomers (particularly from the States) are trendier. Kids want brands like Abercrombie and Hollister and shops like Republic can`t keep up.
I don't think Ocado will be here forever.
We`ve got a stand-alone Wallis here. I`m amazed they`re still going. I wouldn`t be surpised if Bennetton disappear either.
My daughter will be distraught! We never go past without she has to go in that shop!
always seem to be high street chains. Maybe its more to do with shopping online that the recession.

these businesses often keep open their online market even when the high st side hits the wall.
