Adjusting your crutch. First, you have to have your main thing hanging exactly perpendicular, then give it a slight toss so that it begins to swing, and then bend your crutch so that your main thing swings continuously in equal arcs left and right of plumb. Anybody else have this problem?

Well, B00, at least he has two hands: I'm only working with one.
Did you finaly take a tumble in the ice and snow, stewey?

or have I read this all wrong....?
I vote that the above information should, by law, be provided as a user manual with every purchase of underpants. There's clearly a health and safety issue here!
You could always put down your beer and use both hands.....

....if you have a prosthetic do be cautious with the hook when adjusting your man bits......
Question Author
You're getting quite close when you mention "hook", Eccles.
Men and their dingalings!
Question Author
Mine doesn't ding: those that do are cheap ones.
But does it quiver?
A 'ding' sounds much more impressive than a 'ling'.....
Question Author
That's one of the symptoms of the problem, Mojo: when the thing comes to a premature stop it quivers.
Try tugging it a little then slowly letting go ;)
LOL - you reminded me of Long John Silver with the crutch - we call it Crotch...!
Question Author
You have to figure which way and how much to bend it, not tug it!

OK, I'm not a dirty old man; I'm an amateur horologist:) I am repairing a pendulum-type wall clock. The main thing I mentioned is the pendulum leader and the actual pendulum which is attached to it. The crutch is a piece of wire that connects with the escapement and moves the pendulum back and forth. The "tick tock" that you hear is caused by pallets being locked and unlocked by the cogs on the escape wheel......Wow, after three days of trial and error I've got the thing in beat!! I'll celebrate at the bar later on...Cheers.

Stewey - brilliant post, you had us fooled :-)
