Well established that nicotine can cause headaches and may even trigger migraine.

I would have thought the nicotine could give you a head rush if you haven't smoked for a while.

Plautus, they mostly didn't have to. My Dad died of lung cancer and I remember him saying that in the war (WW2) there were always cigs even if there wasn't food or a drink.
