A staff member has peppermint tea???
Question Author
Errrrrr I cant really spit all over the office but thanks anyway!!
Peppermint tea?........why not.
peppermint tea is a good idea.
Keep gaviscon (or similar) tablets in your drawer for the future.
Question Author
I keep gaviscon/rennie at home as sometimes with work I eat my dinner very late and although I know its bad, go to bed on a full stomach. I usually need a couple before I go to sleep. Will keep them in my drawer from now on because it is annoying me quite a lot this afternoon!!
I can only assume that you have had this "indigestion" investigated by a "gastric camera."
be careful. If you suffer with indigestion and lie down with a full stomach, this can trigger acid reflux where stomach acid gets back into the oesophagus and up into your throat. Its very unpleasant and continued reflux can in fact damage the oesophageal tissue. If you need to eat late, try having a mid afternoon snack or bigger lunch and less in the evening.

No Sqad, it only comes on now and again and I know what triggers it so avoid that type of food. On a normal week I wouldnt need to take any rennie etc.....
I have read up that it can be the sign of other underlying conditions but never felt that inclined to go to GP>
Keep a diary over 4 weeks and note down each time you have a bout.
I'm sure wiser AB'ers would urge you to see your GP if it was more often than you think it is.
(ps, go to your GP anyway)
Ranitidine - zantac I buy shops own brand - Boots the chemist or Morrisons Ranitidine is the generic name.

I have the occassional IBS also, which I have seen a GP over. Im sure he mentioned then that indigestion can be triggered by stress which he pointed out may have been the reason I was getting IBS (had a particularly stressful year last year)
