what sort of person would he be? based on all the things we 'know' about him.

All the things he does if translated to human behaviour, how many of those would be favourable characteristics?

would you like him? be his mate?

Because it seems to me and great number on them would make him a nightmare person - a megalomaniac, bully, delusions of grandeur, irrational demands, cruel, a murderer, a bully, arrogant, vengeful, spiteful, demanding, control freak, impulsive, boorish, moody, demands adoration from everyone... etc
the list goes on ...

so what do you think? are there any traits about him that would make him a good person - as evidenced in his actual behaviour?
what things did he actually do - things noted in the bible - that make him a good bloke - except of course for talking and telling people how to be - (ok so he made the world in 7 days, but thats not really a personality trait)

are there enough good ones to cancel out the above list?

cheers

He might be a funky mover!
Walking on water could be useful if he worked as a lifeguard.
I don’t know who or what God is, other than as a human interpretation of the unknown. Life could hardly have happened by chance as a result of the so-called ‘big bang’ and must have had origins somewhere. I try to console myself thinking of a ‘Power of Creation’, not an earthly person.
Water to wine sounds particularly endearing.
If he was an ABer, I bet he wouldn't go anywhere near Religion and Spirituality threads - far too depressing
Having created an infinite number of universes, mega amounts of space and time. Pure chance doesn't stand a chance, life is inevitable.

Anyway I try to be as nice here as I can.

Not funky, mysterious. He moves in mysterious ways.

He? . . . or She?
Good point, mibn. A bit like the old joke about the astronaut who is asked if he saw God while he was in space, and then replies, 'Yes. She's black.'
I dont believe in god, but if there was a god why does he have to be human or look like a human, or be a man (you used "him" in your question?

There are millions of animals on earth so god may look like one of them.

Or if we assume other planets are inhabited, and god created all the universe, god could look like a "thing" from another planet.

In fact making god a human and a man makes you realsie how stupid this whole "god" thing is anyway.
/If god was a normal person, here on earth …..//

No ‘normal’ person would behave as God did. If you’d have said ‘if God was a person, here on earth ….’, I’d say he’d be locked up for life.

No, I wouldn’t like him and I wouldn’t choose him as a friend.

VHG,// why does he have to be human or look like a human, or be a man //

I think the idea comes from man being made in his image – allegedly.

Lol at china - good point... that ability alone means ahes a keeper... haha

VHG - it has to be a man - because that is my question!
Did you actually read it?

It was a hypothetical question. I said "IF god was a human ..."
I didnt say he was....

The whole point of my question is to IMAGINE him as if he was a person!

You can say female if you like - its irrelevant for this question.
Is would be, None so blind as those who don’t want to see.( Ecclesiastes 8:9)
IF he was a normal person here on Earth he would not be my friend. Satan has more appeal to me.
Goodlife, can you explain //Is would be,// I don't know what you're talking about.

From what I have read of the Bible, Abraham and his friends' God would not be cable to appear as a "normal person". More of a psychopath I would have thought.
VHG - God (with a capital G) cannot be anything but male. He was invented by the Jews and was a minor god of southern Israel called JWYH until the Jews decided to become monotheistic and promoted him to be 'God' - hence the first commandment.

Judaism was strictly male chauvinistic with women being officially second-class citizens. Ergo the Jews would never have made their God female.
