Nerves

I'm going to have a tattoo tomorrow evening and I'm really nervous. I have others, but I haven't had one for a while. A good few years in fact.
I know you can't drink alcohol beforehand but are there any other tips that may make me more relaxed?

Just breathe and try not to think about whats going on if you can find something you and the artist can talk about I found that helped :) good luck

Why would you get something done that worries you so much? No anti tattoos, but why have one if it is making you so nervous?

Sheerardk: I've had them before, which is probably why I'm anxious about the pain. I'm not "worried", as such, just a bit nervous. Wondered if there was any natural way to block pain... and not ibuprofen!

QOM: I'm sure you're right. Deep breaths. It'll all be over soon enough...

You can just describe it to us lol! Is it quite a big design? Can you not take someone with you just to keep you occupied?

Take some Ibuprofen......no big deal.

I'm sure you will be fine, the one I had done a year ago I sailed through it and only when it was finished did I notice the pain. Find a distraction technique that works for you and stick to it.

Erin - yes. All the way down my side. I want it from, just below my armpit, to my waist. I know that's going to be quite painful... hence the "nerves" question. Eekk!

I am an out and out coward so I couldn't have a tattoo even if I wanted one. Good luck, hope it turns out how you wanted it to.

Just ask yourself, when you're old and grey that tattoo will be shrivelled up, just as your skin will be. Do you really want that.

Oooohh! As we would say up here... Sare en!! Lol! Nah, I would take the painkillers like everyone has said and just try and distract yourself. You got an iPod or something?
