Period type pains after a hysterectomy?

Morning.

Before I go off running to the doctor in a panic, I thought I'd ask here first.

Following my hysterectomy in Feb [due to cervical cancer] I some times get what I can only describe as period pains [for you ladies out there, that sort of heavy feeling like you're about to explode, more than cramps].
At first I thought I may be a touch constipated but it's not that. Google suggest healing scar tissue.
Any ideas?

Yes, but you might think im nuts.

I know you've recently taken up E Cigs, and I know, I and quite a few others have suffered cramps through it in the first few weeks from it!!

I know it sounds odd, but im just throwing it out there as another possible cause.

Ooooo, interesting! Thing being I started on them at the same time as the op.
Worth looking in to.
I finally got round to posting on the forum you recommended yesterday and it was interesting to read about the different carriers of the flavours. Wonder if that could be anything to do with it.

Well, no need for concern and it is extremely unlikely that it is anything to do with your cancer.

Period pains after hysterectomy are indeed quite common.

I would leave it until Christmas and if you are still getting the pains then see your GP and an ultrasound may be advised.

I would take Ibuprofen 600mgms for the period pains.

Thank you Sqad [I hope I find you well]
I have been on the pain killers but for other issues and it does relieve them too.
My GP has asked if I want a...erm the name escapes me but it's a smear test offered to women post op just to check on the wound site. I should be going for that before Christmas anyway.

BOO's suggestion is also a good point.

It seems Propylene Glycol could be the 'problem' to some using ecigs.
It has been known to cause allergic reactions in some users, I wonder if that could be it?

Thank you for your concern Anne, I'm at the docs soon with something else and will mention it then anyway.

divegirl - I had similar pains after my hysterectomy caused by the meds for pain giving me constipation.

This brought on my IBS, which I had never suffered before the op.

good luck at the docs.
