I went to get a tooth out yesterday and after 40 minutes of hauling and pulling by 2 dentists, I no longer have my tooth but I still have the roots. Apparently they are curved or something and it looks like I'm going to have to be referred for a surgical removal where they'll take away some bone to get access. I feel like I've been kicked in the face by a horse! Has anyone else had this? I have to wait 3 weeks before they'll xray and probably refer - please tell me I'm not going to be in this amount of pain for all that time?

Oh god, oh, god, oh god ... oh, kazzamac !

I've got some boxes of 600mg Ibuprofen from Spain.

I'm going to send you two boxes of 30, and you must take THE LOT ...

... with a bottle of Cognac.

I need a couple myself, just reading your post.

B00 will just love this post if she reads it :-P

To answer your question, no I've never had this happen to me and I hope I never have to experience it!
Even after having a tooth out normally the pain can be excrutiating for a couple of weeks (and I've had 4 out over the last few years),so I can't imagine what pain you are in.I hope they have given you some serious pain relief,so sorry for you.

They gave me nowt! I am currently pilfering mr mac's copious supply :-(
get yourself to the quack tomorrow, karen; that is ridiculous.
yes, I was recently found to have some roots left lying round after a previous extraction. They were then removed but for a week after I looked as if I'd been hit in the face by a baseball bat and was gulping down ibuprofen like Smarties.

But no, you won't hurt all the time, it's just the pain and bruising from the attacks on your jaw; that'll fade, though probably not for a few days.

Thanks karen.................I now feel slightly stupid at putting off having a filling done.
ooh, Spanish ibuprofen, they're the best, they have prawns and rice
Haven't you got a late night chemist open near you..........I'd go and ask the pharmacist what he recommends.
Are you absolutely certain that you're not thinking of paella, jno ?
<<<feels, ill, queazy and just a little bit faint just reading this :-(

You poor bugger!

Get yourself to the docs as suggested and get yourself some arsekicking painkillers.

Good luck xx
oh yes, you might be right, JJ. But they'd go down well with sangria, wouldn't they?
Oh sweetie get oragel from boots it's like Novocain for teeth you just rub on the gum and it numbs it about 3.50 a tube good luck xxxx
Karen mabye the doc will px u some 30/500 cocod or tramadol!! Get the paracet and ibuprof in to you!!!! And i rinse with corsodyl to avoid any infection and salty water!!!

Hot water bottle too mabye xxx bless ya xxxx
Well, the first time I had them was in Spain.

With, amongst other things ... Sangria.

They are so good (1,800mg four times a day with lots of wine takes away ALL the pain) that I always stock up on the when I'm in Spain.

Also ... only €3.00 for a box of 30!
so the pain in Spain is mainly on the wane?
hahaha jno!

I do love you, that sooooo deserves to be the best answer!
LOL

I wish I could get some to kazzamac.

She needs something that really works.
1800mg 4x a day, JJ, Are you sure that you are still alive?
Dose suggested by the pharmacist in the Farmacia, DT

It worked !!

Look, if you have pain, you don't want A BIT LESS pain ... you want it to GO AWAY totally.

You can't dolly around with pain killers.
