Lots of strong candidates this year with many outstanding performances, who do you think is going to win?

Andy Murray, Bradley Wiggings, Jes Ennis, David Weir, Ellie Simmonds, any I have missed.

My money is on either Bradley or Andy, purely because its been so long since we had a British champion in those sports.

Sue Barker or Gary Lineker for outstanding coverage !
or Clare Balding...
You missed Mo Farrar- I think hewas favourite
Congratulations to Andy Murray on winning the US tennis, I salute you, but Sports Personality of the Year, sorry, but he hansn't got a one
I think the title ought to be changed. I don't think it is about personality- it's about achievement. A number of previous winners have certainly not been 'personalities'- Zara Phillips etc
Now f30, if it were to be called Sports Achiever of the Year the list would be endless, my vote would go to errrrrrrrrrm, Brassica Farray
I think it should be Wiggins, but it could turn out to be David Weir as his wins will be fresher in the memory.

Ben Ainslie should probably be in your list of worthy contenders as well.
Joey Barton ?
Brassica Farray? That's a restaurant isn't it? Have I missed a Manc joke as I've never heard of him/her?
Oh i see Bradley Jessica Farrar
You forgot Murray f30 :)
So I did.
I'm all for Andy Murray. Really hope he wins.
My money is on Bradley Wiggins, but I would really like to see the wonderful Ellie Simmonds winning.
I'm agree with Kiki-frog!
Up until last night I thought Wiggo, even with strong competition from the Olympics and Paralympics. Now I think Murray - first British tennis major in 76 years (at four majors per year, that's a lot of majors missed), Olympic Gold medal and Wimbledon final. Exceptional.

And Lendl for coach of the year.
> first British tennis major in 76 years

first British MALE tennis major in 76 years
Rory McIlroy. I'm not saying he should win but he should at least get a mention!
Mo Farah will probably get my vote if I can be bothered.

Yep the ladies not so long , Virginia Wade in 1977 (Wimbledon Jubilee Year), and unless corrected Sue Barker (French Open 1976) before that. Apparently there is no TV footage of her win as there was a French TV Cameramans Strike that day! Only her semi-final win which is on Youtube.
