Does anybody experience these and are they anything to be worried about?  I've had them (atleast I think that's what it is!?) on and off for 2 days now.  It's like a constant awareness of my heartbeat and it flutters and thuds in my chest and my throat.  Most uncomforting. Thanks.  P.s. I'm only 25 and overall healthy.

yup, happens to me all the time, don't worry about it. it's normally down to anxiety and worrying, but best to see your doctor, just to be sure. it feels really scary but it happens to alot of people. For me it sometimes feels as if my heart is missing a beat. try to ignore it and it will go away in afew days.

Thanks Indian, that's very reassuring.

If you're at all worried you should see your doctor but as indian says, it sounds like a panic attack.  I had a few of them a couple of years ago, usually in bed at night when I had too much time to think, and they were very scary but they passed pretty quickly.

Take care

If they continue on scullywoo you may have available in health shops a herbal mixture (in capsules) of capsicum, garlic and hawthorne berries. If you can't get that try for the hawthorne by itself. Exeedingly one of the very best things for palps and other symptoms in the heart, including angina.
supposed to be normal in young (under 40,according to my doc) people, I had one whilst at gym with a chest strap on and reading went over the top. went to hospital and they sorted me with a 24 hour tape which does as it says on the tin. They then examined the tape and confirmed that my heart was entirely normal. This would suggest to me that sometimes with those sympoms it may not be, so best to visit your doc and get the ok off him. (Apparently the fluttering is your hearts own pace maker becoming momentarily confused so it doubles the rate and then drops it until it finds a healthy balance.)

i get these, horrible.

Try and avoid: if possible!   Stress, excess caffeine.  It can sometimes be triggered by a lack of iron too, so if you are anaemic this could be a factor.   I have not had them too much lately and i try to get exercise as much as possible if stressed as it really helps. xxxx
