I had fibracitis, God knows the spelling once from sitting next to an open car window whilst moving, it was very painful and the only advice I got was the usual rest and stop moving the offending joint.....Hmmm. Sorry not much advice. p s love your avatar, hope you like mine too.
Yes, it will go away but it may take time.........anything from one year to three years.

Exercises? forget about them whilst the pain is still present.
Here is advice from the NHS....I had a friend who tried acupuncture-and had quite a bit of relief as a result.

As a retired rehab professional, I would be advising you to get advice from a decent physio now. They can tell you what movements to do and what not and be ready for you when you can do more active rehab. It's much much easier to get a frozen shoulder working properly again if it has been properly cared for in the acute stage rather than letting it really seize up and then trying to get it moving again.
If the doc didn't refer her to physio, she should go back and ask for a referral. It is a long term problem tho.

thanks all for you answers and yes a physio is on the way waiting for a date
I had this problem a couple of years ago and the doctor gave me pain killers and anti-inflamatory pills. The problem persisted and people told me that it would probably take a year or two to go away. Someone then recommended a guy in Peterborough, where I live, who is an orthopaedic massage therapist. After just two treatments, using massage and ultrasound, the pain had gone. He also gave me some exercises to mobilise the joint, which I still do from time to time if I think my shoulder is getting stiff. Just looking at his leaflet I see he is registered with the LCSP and their website www.lcsp.uk.com has a list of members, so you can find someone in your area. Good luck!
