Period 6 days late but pregnancy test negative

I'm 6 days late for my period on a usually very regular 28 day cycle, i had unprotected sex 18 days ago in what i now know was my fertile week, i've never been pregnant before so not sure what symptoms i should be feeling if i was pregnant, i feel normal no sickness or stomach pain, i've never missed a period before or been this late, is it possible i'm pregnant even though the test (taken today) is negative?

18 days ago you were very likely ovulating so yes. Test in a week and test 1st wee of the morning. Xx

tinkerbell i'm not stressed at all, i've been through people i love dying, job loss, mental illness, relationship breakups & never ever once have i missed a period in the 17 years of having periods, didn't think for a minute i'd be pregnant this month it was only the one time of unprotected sex so was expecting my period last tues as usual, i even wore a sanitary towel on tues & wed in anticipation... thanks though i get what your saying, so many women are desperate for a baby they can make themselves hold onto their period but as much as i want a baby i wasn't planning on starting a family until next year xxx

One of those colds where concentration becomes short - tried some writing earlier but couldn't get into it. Birthday to come for the mater, which I could have done without, but will have to grin and bear (well that isn't fair - however) ......funny thing is all I want to eat is pasta; the wine hasn't been affected so small mercies for that.
