I recently fractured my arm (humerus) just where the Blood Pressure Testing Cuff tightens and it seems to :
1. hurt a little.
2. show readings of 160 Syst to 180 when I'm usually around 145.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

In answer to 1) that would be understandable but if little clinical significance, particularly if your check X-Rays had shown normal healing.

2).....you fracture has nothing to do with your BP which should be investigated as if you had no past history of a fracture.

See you GP.

Put the cuff on the other arm!!!!
"just where the Blood Pressure Testing Cuff tightens" are you talking about a wrist or arm type ? If 'cuff' refers to the wrist, then that type is not very reliable, I have just switched to the upper arm variety, and the readings are lower and much more consistent. If you have a tight dressing or plaster cast on the fracture, it could increase the blood pressure reading a little. Isn't that the case squad?
Khandro........I assumed that Trevbe thad had the plaster/dressing removed.....not much point in taking your BP over e plaster cast.;-)

I agree with the other part of your post.
Khandro, Trev stated that he had broken his Humerus which is the upper arm!
come on Khandro, wake up!
Sorry, mea culpa: but my dictionary says a cuff is 'A fold used as trimming at the BOTTOM of a sleeve'. Grumpy, I know where the humorous is, thank you. On the scant information, I envisaged an arm with a dressing/cast on the upper arm/elbow area and a reading being taken from the wrist.
even 145 seems high to begin with.....

I run at 115 over 72
test the other arm and then hit the GPs! was it a simple fracture?
Don't know how to spell it though Khandro
