I hate getting up in the mornings!  I'm constantly late for work, rounds of Golf and have even missed flights due to not being able to get out of bed.... I'm not lazy I work hard and have an active lifestyle, but I seem to be in a different state of mind when my alarm goes off. Is there any cure for this??

it's because we have sleep cycles, which are about an hour and a half long, so where in the cycle we are woken affects how we feel when we get up.

don't worry, the end is in sight - the other week, i read that someone's developing a alarm clock that monitors your sleep & wakes you up at the light-sleep stage of the cycle (you set it with the latest time you want to be woken, so be warned that you might find youself with extra time on your hands)

until then, if you get up the same time every morning, consider setting your alarm for a half hour earlier as this may help (please don't be mad at me if it doesn't though!)

I'm the same. No cure as far as I know. I have to set my alarm an hour before I get up. It winds the wife up a treat. Maybe it's subconscious.....
i find it so hard to get up in the morings too. it's ok at weekends when i sleep in late, but during the week it's hell. I try to go to bead earlier but it doesn't seem to help. I now set my alarm about 1/2 hr earlier then i need to get up to try to start waking me up before i get up, but i just fall back to sleep inbetween the snoozes
I'm like that too. It doesn't help me but how about placing the alarm in the other end of the room? You'll then have to get out of the bed to turn it off, but if you're anything like me you'll just creep back ;0) I, like some of the others, set the alarm to hr earlier, so I can get used to the idea of getting up...
then again, you could set it to fifteen minutes later so you wake up and think "mmpmhhph.... sleep.... ?!?!$?$??$?!?^%$^? i'm late!" then you'd kinda have to get up.

Me too - I'm just not a morning person!

I love going on holiday, but don't like early morning flights - in fact I don't even bother going to sleep the night before - in case we oversleep!

Bad luck. I'm a night owl too.  Even if I get up early I am not at my best for ages.  When something's really important I set three alarms including the BT reminder call.  As I'm deaf in one ear, it's all too easy to turn over so that the deaf ear is uppermost.  I have had to rig up an old-style phone bell and I set that at a different time to the other two.  The BT calls are a bit expensive, but it's "belt and braces" with me sometimes.  Dunno if you are alone, though, for all of this.  The SAD light people do a dawn-light gadget which might be worth investigating, but I haven't got the details to hand just now. The idea is that some people are more responsive to light disturbance.  You could try a time-switch to let loud TV and bright lights come on at the necessary time.
i'm a pretty bad snoozer. I heard the other day that the first twenty seconds after you wake up your clinically insane. thats more for interest than anything else
