my 47 year old son has just or less all the time and has been given flucloxacillin. His bedroom is very small and he usually sleeps with the window almost closed and the radiator off. Should he change these arrangements

want to have another look at that first senetence?

At this time of year it's not necessarily a great idea to open windows (and if you do and switch the radiator on, the heat will just go outside and be wasted). If he's got some sort of infection the antibiiotics should deal with it.
Seems satisfactory to me.....no need to change.
I don't have a big bedroom but have a window open in the house all the time (except very rare occasions when it's really freezing) including overnight. I rarely have the heating on though and if I do, not for long, just to warm things up - use a throw/hot water bottle if anything. I feel like I can't breathe as well without a window open - I can't do sauna's and steam rooms for the same reason - feel like I can't breath - maybe asthma related.

I also get out every day for some fresh air. It helps my chest.
I like a bedroom window open just a little to keep fresh air circulating, it is better for you really, i find it gets too stuffy in a bedroom when the heating is on this time of year.

oops sorry should have said been diagnosed with a viral chest infection!!Amazed to get any answers because it doesn't really make much sense as it is. Anyway thanks for your interest, we will leave things the way they are and let the antibiotics do their work thanks again. x
I think it helps to let germs have a chance of escaping rather than circulating too, especially if airborne. One of the reasons I don't like the newfangled system of aircon controlled buildings where you can't open an window. Apart from temperature issues (a former boss had us leave the office one hot July as the office was way too cold and even I was sat there with a coat on when I'm usually too warm if anything).

It's been noticed that once people come down with the usual colds etc... it seems to spread a lot quicker and wider in an enclosed enviroment where the germs are just being circulated.
does he have any animals or a dusty room? it may help a bit toleave a crack open
