a big white van went into me, very fast, my car jolted forward and almost into the opposite lane, i managed to control it. Feel upset now, because my kids were in the car and although they are ok, eldest is complaining of headache. Im in pain aswell, in between my shoulder blade there is a sharp pain, comes and goes, and my leg got trapped under my seat, the jolt made my seat slide forward. I wont admit pain to the other half, he'll make me go to hospital, and i have had enough today. We are very lucky it wasn't worse, and i am grateful to god that my kids are ok. Car is mangled, im sat here almost teared up because my kids were in the back and he hit us in the back, what if? i would never have forgiven myself if something happened to the kids. Am i over reacting? why do i feel so emotional after all this?

I'd think it stranger if you weren't at least a bit emotional after being in a car accident with your kids in the car. Take it easy and get any pain checked out if it continues.
Because you are in shock - why won't you got to hospital and at least get checked over before the late night rush to A&E?? It would seem to me to be a good idea for you and your eldest, allow yourself to be upset don't fight it.
go and see a doctor tomorrow, and make sure you take your children too.

perfectly natural to feel emotional, its all the what ifs runnign around your head as well as the shock of the incident.

go to doctor and ensure its recorded and mentioned to your insurer as well.
No...not over reacting. I think it's quite normal, especially after the adrenaline has worn off.

But don't lose sight of the facts...the kids are fine. Thinking 'what if' won't help anyone. Just think you're lucky...x
OMG are you sure you're OK? Don't think you are over reacting, just probably suffering shock. Please go to see your doctor tomorrow if things are not any better - may be nothing but better safe than sorry.
That is dreadful, you really need to go to the hospital and have it checked out, you never know what injury you may have sustained without realising it. Alo if you need to make a claim for injury you will need to prove that you went to hospital.

Im sure you are feeling very lucky to all be safe and well, it could have been far worse as you know.
You are emotional because the shock of today and your mind going through various 'what if?' scenarios.

You've been horribly shaken up and feared for the well-being of your children. I'm not surprised you feel emotional.

I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Not true Ratter...a trip to the GP would be fine.
You must be in shock. Get yourself checked out at the A&E and make sure your children are OK too, then a visit to your solicitor. My daughter got whiplash from her accident and spent several weeks having physio. She got some compensation from the insurance, took a while, but why should you suffer because of someones negligence.
I'm no doctor, but I've seen hundreds of these type of injuries.

Firstly, what everyone says above is correct, what you and your eldest are experiencing are completely normal. Ibuprofen for you (Sqad will advise correct dosage, otherwise just read the packet), plus cold compress.

Secondly, I think it very likely you will feel WORSE tomorrow. That is also quite normal. It is worth seeing a doc, even if he advises over the counter anti-imflammatories. If it turns out to be worse, you might need phsyio which you might get the other side to pay for.

Thirdly, try not to dwell on the "what if" and instead think of the "what did".
rozia, please follow the advice given and go to the hospital. You need the injuries recorded officially. Otherwise you have no comeback. I am so glad nothing worse happened to you and your children. The other driver will hopefully be insured and should you need any treatment etc., their insurance will cough up not only for your car but also for you. Your children will have had quite a jolt too and so will need to be checked out. Often the pain doesn't set in properly till days after an accident, i.e. in the case of a strain. So please, play it safe and have all who were in the car checked over by your doctor. Your emotional reaction is perfectly normal and again, your doctor might be able to give you something to settle you over the next few days. I hope you feel better soon. Hugs!

I dont think its wise to put your mobile number on a public site pizza, as a stranger I would be dubious about phoning it personally.
I wouldn't advise doing that^^^^^^^^
She doesn't need to go to hospital for personal injury claim reasons. GP or Walk in centre is absolutely fine. She shoudl only go to A and E if it is an emergency.
I've reported your post pizza, really not a good idea putting a mobile number on here.
Thanks for your post cazzz was just an initial reaction to the post because of the person I am but understand what you mean.
