are you taking the pee out of my nickname?
I'd like to think - if I were a bloke - that a) my wife is a bit of all right fancied by other blokes, but she's chosen to be with me, and b) I trust her not to get her head turned by this flattery.
I'm not a bloke though. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.
Very goood advice Boxtops

Would I do that Sara?
Depends what you mean by 'acting up'?
hmmmmmmm... yes?
As my wife would be a sentient human being, I think I'd believe her entirely capable of dealing with the 'plank'......
So would I Jack....lol
I think the man hostage would just leave me to deal with it and say a silent prayer for the poor fella.
Give the drunk guy benefit of the doubt, he was drunk afterall....as long as your other half didnt do anything to instigate the situation or lead him on. It's about trust, be proud as she obviously can still turn heads (be they drunk or not) she is with you.
My OH said he would refer the guy to an optician. (I'm the one typing his smart @rse reply)

Tell the guy to naff off.

I'm capable of telling an idiot to go forth and multiply.
Shows how naive I am. The expression "acting up" suggested something different to what the other answers imply.

TWR - gallop in on your white horse, sweep your dearly beloved up and place her behind you on your trusty steed then gallop off into the sunset thereby saving the poor damsel from distress.

Never happened with my wife but on a train to Scotland a guy was pawing at a girl I was looking after. I invited him into the vestibule to sort matters and somehow we managed to get pu together.
I understand what TWR is saying by acting up, he's/she's saying, "coming-on to" chatting up, I think.
I don't have a husband, but my OH would probably just say nothing and roll his eyes to the roof and order another drink.
I wouldn't presume to interfere unless the lady I was with asked me to, I've never been out with a woman unable to deal with such ' planks' on her own and they would find it quite demeaning if I interfered I think.
