Are potential black football managers being discriminated against by some clubs, and should clubs be forced to interview at least one black person when seeking a manager?

Why can't black footballers relax on state benefits after their playing career instead of being forced to manage a poxy Championship side?
Well here goes: I personally find positive discrimination, affirmative action, quotas etc as the most blatant form of racism. Employment should be based on qualifications of the person applying regardless of colour, creed etc.

Brendan,

There are many skillful black players in English football but for some reason they are not being employed in managing roles once their playing days are over. The suspicion is that they are being discriminated against. The quota does not obligate a club has to employ a certain number of black people, it just means one shoyld be interviewed. If they are not suitable for the job, then no harm done.
As there are many shades of black I wonder if managers that run Barcelona or Real Madrid (ie Morinio) need a positive discriminating test.
skilful players dont necessarily make good managers.

paul ince moaned about black managers etc.... he got the blackburn job...the rest is history
Gromit, I stand by my post. And why should they even be interviewed when they do not meet the criteria - thus denying a qualified candidate a chance of an interview.

That probably explains why we have had only one female PM.
And she was the best since Churcilll until to-day imo
shouldn't it be best person for the job.
Gromit, politics is a male dominated arena, always has been. One female PM in how many years?
What fraction of ex-players have coaching qualifications?
