Okay so this Thursday im getting my cartilage pierced at a piercing shops called "The Pin Cushion" its a professional place, it uses hollow needles, has a good reputation etc. But im worried about the pain the needle causes, apposed to getting the piercing done with a gun at claire's or icing. Besides it being more expensive, and apparently a lot cleaner... I don't have a very high tolerance for pain, but either way im getting it done. I just want you guys to rate the pain, during the piercing process, and after... 1-10... 1 being the lowest... 10 the highest.

Well, I think you're mad(!) but the discussion here might help:

Ouch, ouch, ouch. I would have to have a general anaesthetic!!!
Sorry, not a lot of help :o(
pain rating: 12
Rub some ibroprofen gel on about an hour before you go in, should help a bit. I had mine pierced some years back, I didn't find it more painful at the time but it did take longer to heal and it was more painful to sleep on as it seems to twist more as you rest on the pilow.
A walk in the park, ive had a few sensitive piercings, I would rate this as a 6.

Good luck! :-)

I'm not "up" on piercings at all - I have none, but wondered if you could tell me why you want a piercing on the inside of your ear (I watched the YouTube link) and going through cartilage? does it "mean" something? I'm interested to know.
Can't say it meant anything to me, at the time I just thought it looked good! Not so sure now though.
