Does anybody have any idea what it's meant to mean when you are tyring to walk in a dream but you can't move forward, as if you are being held back by a big gust of wind (even though you can't feel wind)?

I have so many weird dreams I like to think there is something more to them. Although some of them have been known to sort of come true afterwards so in a way I hope they are meaningless.
I had a dream I had a prosthetic leg the other day.

Sometimes dreams can be linked with certain emotions/happenings in real life but I think too much is read into them.

you could translate your dream to feeling in life that you're not making progress in a certain area or being held back by someone or something.

Yes, maybe you are right Booldawg. Just my every day thoughts at the back of my mind culminating in my dreams.

I do wish you could have control over dreams.

Yeah, that does ring true Trigger. One area of my life I'm particularly anxious about at the moment. I suppose it would make sense.
Most dreams definitely have meaning. I also have that dream milly, quite often.

I studied the psychology of dreams in 'a' level psychology - I found it absolutely fascinating. Though I didn't mention some of my...err... risque ones. They are for me and me alone ;-)
to dream of being buffeted by a strong wind indicates that you will have to fight some tough and probably tricky competition to get what you want.

to me dreams are meaningless nonsense, just dragged up memories and future anxieties. you can portray emotions in many ways when you are awake, dreams are just the bodies way of doing it when you are not.

they don't portent anything other than 'you have something on your mind'.

I had one of my oddest dreams ever, a couple of nights ago.
It would take far too long to set the scene, but suffice to say, I seemed to be present (not active; merely an unnoticed spectator) during an interview at a persons home.
I inferred that there had been a recent series of murders, somehow connected to an incident on board a ship/submarine, (definitely a naval vessel, anyway) many years before. The lead detective was busy examining various Naval memorabilia/insignia and mementos in the living room, whilst the second detective gently questioned the elderly woman we were visiting. The thing is, the whole thing was played out entirely in Swedish (?) which I don't speak and so I had no idea exactly what I was going on.........
did you nod off whilst watching wallander ?
It would make far more sense if I had, I agree. But I can't even claim that, I'm afraid.

LOL Jack. Did you have meatballs before you went to bed or something?

See there are dreams like that that just make no sense. I could now apply my dream to something in my awake life but dreams like the one you mention, well where the hell do they come from?

Would be interested to find the site Pixi mentions.

I have similar dreams where I am being attacked and try to scream but I can't get it out. They are different though. They feel like real nightmares. The one I mentioned before just felt frustrating and upsetting but not scary.

I can't really afford the nine minutes Trigger but actually, I do quite like it. It's the sort of thing I used to take pleasure in having playing all day in my PC at work when I was about 19, much to everyone elses displeasure.
taking control over your dreams is known as lucid dreaming. some claim you can perform exercises to 'train' yourself to do this.
