this morning i weighed myself...it said 10.10... i was surprised as yesterday i was 10.6... however i went out for an hour and weighed myself again - i was 10.7... then again about an hour later i was 10.9...

these are electric scales, and i hadnt eaten at all until after the 10.9 reading...and before then had only drank about a glass of water...

whats going on there? i surely cant be putting weight on an off like that...!

thanks

Joko - I have weighed myself before and after a pee and I was heavier after. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll be the scales :)
I guess nothing is perfect, even electronic scales rely no the thing that changes under pressure.

cheers all. I am not bothered, i just wondered...it seems odd...ive never weighed myself this many times in one day you see, and was surprised...

also if the scales are faulty i may find im actually only 9st...haha
Me too. I'm sure I'm only 9st really, it's my shirts that have shrunk.
Have you got your scales on carpet, that can often cause a problem. Hard floor is usually recommended.
Question Author
yes they are on a very short pile carpet with no underlay...ill try somewher else

now im 10.8...haha
Same happened to me Id weigh myself one day and find the next day id be two or three pounds heavier it was really frustrating Im not bothering with the scales anymore I just go by my jeans now.
It's the scales.....

I would get a normal set of scales.....even my electric kitchen scales an have a mind of their own.
Well thats an average of your earlier readings, so could be right. I used to find my weight changed if I moved slightly when scales were on carpet. Now they do only give me the one reading when I use them.
I once lost 2lb going to the airing cupboard to get a towel. If only I could replicate this...

i know you are generally a bit heavier at the end of the day than first thing, due to all the food and drink you may eat during the day, but not within a few hours with no food etc added...
Question Author
Oh bloody hell....i have just dropped them...and now they are reading

9.10.0.... what on earth does that mean? is that supposed to 9st 10lb?
usually it would just read 9.10 ...whats the extra 0

and the kilo and pound measurements correspond to that amount

either ive dropped it and fixed it...(yayy) or ive well and truly broken it...(bah!)
Average sizes for platform scales are about 12" Depending where the pressure is put on the scale may affect the reading. Try putting a small heavy object on different areas and read the results.
My scales are like that. I keep changing the batteries but it doesn't do any good. They still tell me I range in weight between 11 stone and 11stone 7lbs. I've given up.
Why? Just .....why?

Dear Stalker,

Why what? You make no sense.

Depending on what you eat and drink on any given day,TOM ( for women),humidity(may affect water retention)...weight can vary by 3-4lbs...and by more within a weekly weighing period. It's best to weigh just once a week...and always in the same conditions and at the same time of day..ie-on a Saturday morning just after you've woken, been to the loo...and are in your smalls-or nothing.
Is it just me that's wondering why you are weighing yourself so much...
I think a daily weigh is normal when seriously trying to lose. I used to do that, plotted the results in Excel :-) But one needs to note there is a little noise in the data, as the scales are never perfect. But the slope of hte graph is encouraging.
