hey everyone just after a bit of advice or if anyones been through the same thing.....

i miscarried on 13th may was told by hospital i had miscarried and that was that....thing is its 5 weeks tomorrow since the misscarriage i have had unprotected sex on numerous accounts as we are eager to try again, a week ago i noticed i was having rather bad headches, been sick once or twice and very sore breasts so i did a test (no period since misscarriage) and all 3 came back a very clear positive....today a friend of mine noticed i have a pot belly lol which for me is a no no as usually i am very thin size 8, tall and not a bit of fat of me....her mum is a midwife and mentioned that when i had meant to of misscarried bk in may it may of been a misdiagnosed misscarriage and therefore i may still be pregnant and never misscarried in the first place!! is this possible as i find it hard to believe....also sorry for this being so long, but someone also mentioned that some years ago they miscarried but a few weeks later was still having pregnancy symptons and it turns out that she actually misscarried a twin but kept one! im so confused at whats going on! i havnt got midwife for a while yet so any help would be greatful

thank u :))

It is possible, it happened to my SIL - first told she'd lost the baby, then definitely found she hadn't. Fingers crossed for you.

boxtops.....was she told she had lost the baby via an internal scan??
That I don't know - it was a long while ago, her lad is in his twenties now.

aww ok thank u
they would have performed some sort of d&c or scan at least surely to ensure everything was gone, to prevent infection etc...so they would have seen it then?
Question Author
No they ddnt need to as accordin to them i passed everything naturally but i have read that people have lost one and the other was hiding :/
I'm not sure about the answer to your Q, Isharp, but I just wanted to mention that the likeliness to have have twins can't be passed down the paternal line; it's a mother who passes on the increased chance of releasing more than one egg in a menstral cycle to her daughter. That's non-identical twins, too- identical twins can happen to anyone. Good luck with everything! :)
Many years ago within a 3 month timeline,I knew 3 women who were all diagnosed as still being pregnant after their doctors had previously confirmed they had had a miscarriage. In 2 of the cases,it was supposed there had been twins and one survived, and in the third case, they assumed there had been triplets. All 3 women went on to give birth to healthy babies. These types of "miracles" can happen, just to confirm what you had heard. However,it was a rare thing that happened with my friends, and you should ask to get tested and scanned again, but, please be prepared that it's not good news. All my best bm
Yes it is possible......but extremely uncommon, particularly after a scan (which could miss a yolk sac),

Blood hormone levels would also give you a clue.
