Can anyone identify the groom and best man's uniform please. They have berets on their shoulders but I can't see the badge.

sorry i dont know. but what a great picture. are they relatives of yours ?
Question Author
Isn't it lovely Anne! No they're not relatives. Just look at the bouquets - aren't they lovely?
id love to see it in colour !
The groom has a forage cap, not a beret, tucked under his left epaulet. The uniforms do not appear to be British, yet the groom wears a British army-pattern belt. My guess is that the uniforms might be Canadian.
Question Author
Ah, my mistake I'm not familiar with the correct terms for the head gear. Thank you for that Bookbinder. I'll go and do some googling on Canadian uniforms.
An luck yet Horseshoes,I'm going goggle eyed at looking at army uniforms, but cannot find what your looking for.
Question Author
No Dennis. I e-mailed a site called Silvermans who deal with military uniforms and asked did they recogise the uniform, and the answer I got was this "The suit is a khaki serge suit circa 50's, we have these available priced @125.00 per suit. These are a good copy of WWII type which you cannot buy today. We would require all the measurements. Hope that this has helped you." Well, bless him for answering but no it didn't help at all! Back to the drawing board. Thank you for helping.
DH has just looked and said that the forage cap on the groom looks prussian/german and the uniforms generally look continental rather than canadian.
Question Author
I originally thought Polish, but not sure why!
The picture was taken in Llandudno, so no likelihood of the soldiers being Prussian or German, I think! I still say that the uniforms are Canadian.
Why not ask at the photographer's studio that took the picture?
Baxter Photographers,
3A Vaughan Street,
Llandudno,
LL30 1AB
Telephone: 01492 876 547
You never know, they might still have a copy!
Question Author
That's long shot, but I'll try it tomorrow.
Hi horseshoes. I think it is an aiforce uniform not an army uniform and if it was Llandudno then they may have been at RAF Valley

Possibly The South Lancashire Regiment[Pince of Wales Volunteers) ??
Question Author
Dotty, we actually live on the flight path of RAF Valley. Mind you there's more helicopters than jets these days. The jets terrify me.

Dennis, I'm STILL googling. I'll be gogle eye at this rate.

Book-binder I still can't find a matching Canadian photo, but again, I'm still looking.
I think looking at the civilians that they are Polish.Ron.
Question Author
Now that's what I thought Ron. Why do you think they are? I think the ladies are probably the local ones ie from North Wales.
I have found some pictures of Canadian battledress:

(I hope this link works!)
3 cheers! It works! What do you think, horseshoes? Could the uniforms in the photograph be Canadian?
Question Author
Book binder - oh me of little faith! You were right all along! I just could not find anything with white lapels. Thank you SO much. x
