My brother is 31 years old and can't grow a proper beard, his hair only grows on his chin, moustache and a little bit down his sideburns. His cheeks, lower jaw and under his chin are as smooth as a babys bum. I am 4 years younger than him and can grow a full beard. Is this normal for a man of that age ?

Lucky him, no shaving. It's not 'normal' in the sense that it's not true of most adult caucasian males, but it's quite common among - for instance - Chinese, I'm told. Is there a problem? Or are you scared 'abnormality' might be catching?

LOL . If I wake up tomorrow morning with bald patches all over my face I would be extremely scared ! He told me he was going to the chemist or doctor to see if there was anything they could do to promote facial hair growth. Is he doing the right thing ?
Yes, if he really really wants hair on his face - though I wasn't joking when I said I thought he was lucky. The record of products promoting hair growth isn't great, so a doctor might be of more value than a chemist. Good luck to him, on behalf of Gillette and Wilkinson Sword.
