The phone just rang, the caller ID showed my own number. There was nobody there and 1471 confirmed the caller number. It's the first time this has happened, anybody else had a similar event?

sounds like telemarketing, they just dial numbers at random. Did you check the number shown on 1471 against whocallsme.com?

The only time our phone has shown our own number is if someboy has left a message while one of us was on the phone. When we hang up it rings a few seconds later to tell us there is a message waiting.

Good news! We're not haunted. It was a text message sent to the land line instead of she who must be obeyed's mobile.
1471 showed our own number as a message alert as you say ubasses. Thanks to yourself and boxtops for taking the time to reply.
