On the theme of the forthcoming Royal Wedding, I read this the other day about a past Royal Wedding, which amused me:-

"Permission to broadcast the Queen Mother and George VI's wedding in 1923 was refused by the Abbey for fear that 'men in taverns' would be listening with their hats on....."

Oh, how times have changed... The meaning of men 'keeping their hats on' these days has a completely different interpretation !!

Fluffy - keeping one hat's on in the presence of Royalty is so rude and ill-mannered.

Sqad, my darling, 'keeping your hat on' means wearing a condom. Well, in this part of the world it does. But we are weird...
Ah!........bit slow ......forgive me.

Oi - Jack, what's that supposed to mean? Am I usually incoherent and of-a-ramble? Mmmmm, maybe. But I always invoke discussion. And it usually turns rude... It's all in the name of entertainment on a Wednesday morning.

Of course, not, salla.......I was merely trying to nudge sqad in the appropriate direction :o)
Baseball Cap and Socks in Bed salla !! ha ha ha I like to be well dressed for the occasion ! ;-)))
In my day it was described as "bare back", not using a condom...e.g

"Did you ride her bare back last night?"

That sort of thing.

I am not averse to a bit of Mexican triggs x
And I think they are known to do a lot of bare back riding. I wouldn't mind, but their moustaches tickle....
but if they are listening in a tavern and the royals are presumably in the church then you;re not in the presence of them??
I thought it was about quaffing your hat to Royalty sall...really..:-)
Can one quaff a hat ?

I bet it brings a lump to your throat.....................:o)
isn't that what quaffing means?
touching ones hat infront of Royalty
probably wrong am I?
Doffing..............you doff your hat and quaff a drink. :o)
Bobbi......I think that you meant "DOFF"......;-)
