You're not alone.... a lot of ladies I know have an aversion to swallowing.
Drink plenty first, is my advice.

lol Salla! The only thing I can swallow are those little nurofen tabs but I always have penicillin in medicine form cause those tabs are normally huge. The docs never mind though and they never act that shocked so I don't think I'm alone.

Pinkilady - you should see me trying to swallow nurofen, I have to count and say "swallow on 5" etc, pathetic really.

Luckily I don't mind needles - it's blood I don't like!
I presume you are referring to tablets, Salla.

I used to gag taking tablets. These days I have to take about 10 tablets at bedtime - I find it easier if I just put them in my mouth and take a giant mouthful of water. Concentrate on swallowing the water and the tablets vanish - magic!
Behave salla.
I once told a Phlebotomist that, "I don't mind these blood tests, but I can't watch", to which she replied, "neither can I".

... errrm, lol?
I have to take seven tablets each morning. I have no problems swallowing them but it becomes a chore having to do it seven times. Now I just put all seven in my mouth and wash them down with a big gulp of (not too hot) tea.
I found that if you fill your mouth Before you put the tablets in your mouth, then swallow, it works. It's a bit fiddly sliding them in through the slit, but trust me it works. Give it a try.

Double LOL!!!
Prior to my tonsilectomy, when I had half of my soft pallate removed, i had a similar problem. Now, with a gullet like the M6, I could probably swallow a violin sidedways!

However, for your problem - take a mouthful of water and hold it. Slip the tablet between your lips. Bend forward at the waist as far as you can. As you bend, you will feel the tablet float in the water in your mouth. Straighten quickly, and as you become upright, throw your head back quickly, and swallow. Gravity will take the water, with the tablet, down.

BTW I am wimpish about brushing my teeth - can't bear metal or plastic objects in my mouth.

Have you tried swallowing them with food instead of with water ?

Chew up a biscuit or a piece of bread then slip in the tablet and it all goes down in one.

And no, you are not alone. (Not me, but more than one member of my family.)
I'm not very good up stepladders.
My aunt is 85 and she still can't swallow tablets. It is nothing to do with being a wimp!!
I have to take 20 tabs a day, and the only ones I find difficult as they start dissolving quickly are Warfarin, yuck, they taste bl00dy orrible.
