I went to the doctor's last June with fungal infection on my big toe. He gave me some stuff to paint on and I've been doing that every other day for the last eight months but it's still not right.
It looks a bit better than it did and is a better shape as it had gone all funny, but there doesn't really seem to be a healthy nail growing through.
I know it take a long time but I was hoping for more improvment after all this time.
Has anyone else experienced this?
in the instructions with the nail paint, it said it could take over 6months for a toenail to improve so I've just kept on with it.
But you're probably right, I should go back to the doctor.
any fungal infection will take about 18 months for your nails to grow out completely... the solution you used was to kill off infection but your nail needs to grow out
Hi Shoemad
I also have a fungal infection on a big toe - using Curanail. This was recommended by my chiropodist who keeps the nail trimmed well back, and who also said it can take anything upto a year (sometimes longer) to "heal". Keep at it !!
