Hi

My partner has just had results back from an MRI scan on his neck. He's been told he has Syringomyelia and will need an operation. It was the doctor that told him the results. He doesn't have the specialist till next month

We've googled it and it seems to be a cyst on the spinal cord

Has anyone had any experiance of this

numnum....you will be lucky to get any answers on AB as Syringomyelia is a very uncommon condition.

numnum....if I can be of any help?
Question Author
hi sqad

do you suffer from this or know anyone with it?

i've found a few good forums about it and also found facebook sites from the UK that are helpful. all the websites we were looking through were very depressing

i know we really shouldn't be reading up on things before he sees the specialist but we just want to know more about it.
numnum...No I do not have the condition and I do not know anyone with Syringomyelia.

To put my previous answer in context, it is unlikely that a GP will ever see a case in his working life..........it is that uncommon.
