whats wrong?!?

ok, so i have this friend, who is talking to me about her period. she has had it for 3 weeks straight, and is very concernd about it. her mom will not take her to the doctor, and she has severely painful cramps at times. she started her cycle when she was 13, and has been regular since then, she is now 16 any one have an idea as to why this is?

I'd only be concerned if she was having long periods every month. If this is the first, maybe her Mum wants to wait and see what next month brings. Our hormone levels vary so do our periods etc
