hello tigger --

i havent a clue!!

nurse tried and tried and then kept saying that she couldnt find my cervix -- unbelievable
Question Author
i was in the doctors for ages.

she said that if it hadnt worked, would have to come back and have it done again
Not good. I have to keep going for one every 6 months because I had a cold type virus down there last year!

I bet you're glad you don't have to go back again though Puss! :o)
Question Author
well -- i rang the doctors secretary this morning, and being reassured that she not a novice nurse .
secretary will report it to the higher nurse on monday, and get her to ring me back. (dont want to get her into trouble though!)
she will ask if i can have another test.
if i cant -- will have to wait another 3 mths for results for y/days test .-- to see if she took the test properly.
Can you not ask for someone else to do it if you get called back?
Question Author
i will ask if i can have some one else to do it, or maybe go to a clinic.
i've had 100's of smears throught the years, and they normally take 2 minutes -- no problems
pusscat....stupid question I know BUT.....I don't suppose you have had a total hysterectomy have you?
Mine have been hit and miss. One time I went and I felt like I'd done 10 rounds with a butcher! Couldn't walk properly afterwards. Was horrible.

I find them very very very very painful. It must be I cant relax "down there" so I hardly go for them. I dread them
Question Author
hi connemarra-- sorry to hear you say that . I never have pain with smear tests, normally, just a bit of dicomfort.
its not bad.
nurse did tell me to relax more, so i did. but still she couldnt find my cervix -- it went on for ages.
i never never have trouble normally.
i thought maybe i had changed my sex haha.
Don't worry pusskin, I had the same problem. The nurse tried twice but she could'nt find my cervix so she called in a doctor and she managed to find it after roughly 20 minutes. Turned out my cervix was bent. She told me this is common and my smear came back clear.

google Bent Cervix.
