Hi
Has anyone else periods stopped after being on the pill for few years?
I've been on mircogynon pill for over 7 years now, and few years ago periods got really light then eventually stopped.
I consulted doctor and said fine, but if worrying me then could change pill to get them-but thought fien if she says so.

However last time saw nurse for check up, She said is everything ok and said yes apart from no periods and she said oh that shouldn't happen get checked up.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced same thing? I still want to be on pill, but worry it will effect fertility if no period as would like children eventually.

My girlfriend currently has a similar situation as yourself at the moment. For a very long time she was on the Pill and a few months ago she started having periods altogether. Sometimes the doctor will suggest that you have a break so things returned to normal. That you can change the Pill if you wish as this is what my girlfriend did and the cycle is back to normal. Maybe your body just get used to it or something along those lines are not sure. In the long term of things I've never heard of it affecting anyone's fertility. I hope this is of some help to you.

I had been on the Pill for about 13 years and after the first year my periods had stopped completely. The doctor was fine with this and it made my life so much easier. I then stopped the Pill and got a coil fitted which also stops your periods. I have never had any other health problems and have seen several different doctors over the years who are more than happy with this situation. I think the nurse is wrong to panic you with inaccurate information.
