Yes, it can take a while - but are you sure your wish hasn't come true?????
as ice maiden says it can take quite a while and depends how long you were on it.

But you dont have to have had a period to have fallen pregnant you know. Have you tested?
I know a girl who didn't have hers for 20 months after she had her last injection. She started the mini pill in the end and that may have kick started her body back into rhythm. When she came off that 3 months later her periods returned as normal.

yeah done test and am not pregnant. so from then have been using condoms until periods return.
many thanks for the comments will go and see gp again. nice to know there is always hope
It can take up to two years for fertility to return after stopping Depo - something doctors rarely warn you about! Perfectly normal for it to take a while for your periods to return.
I went to the doctor today to discuss forms of contraception other than depo as I have heard it takes a long time for fertility and periods to return to normal. The doctor said maybe two years, maybe more! As mentioned above there is something that can kick start your periods (I want to say the mini pill but don't want to be wrong) but don't worry.
I'm sure it's ok :) Good luck.
