tamirra - I am not qualified to know, but please ring NHS direct 0845 4647
how often does it happen? is it around time of period?
is this for real?
don't mean to scare you but I always thought that when you had bad chest pain and it went down your arm it was a heart attack. i suggest you contact a doctor asap
Question Author
Yes its for real, but i wasnt all that worried as it is not a permanant pain, it comes sometimes then goes away, but when its here its very bad, also my voice seems to be strained after the event, its not just before a period as i have no period due to a hysterectomy 15+ yrs ago, im 42 years old.
oh I get this sort of thing from my periods. I'm not sure then, docs would be best
well if i were u, id get down to my doctors (at the very least), ASAP. as far as i know its the biggest indicator of a heart attack, but I'm not a doc, so theres a good chance im wrong. do you have a local nhs walk in centre, or phone nhs direct, quick smart.
Question Author
No i dont have a walkin centre where i am, do you think its really that bad, as if it was then i would be getting this pain all the time surely?
tamirra - Please phone the above number for advice, they are there to help. I have been worried for you. Please phone the number for advice & get back to us.

Thankyou for worrying but im sure its nothing, if i get it again i will ring someone, promise. xxxxxx
The symptoms you describe need to be investigated urgently. If you followed NHS advice you would actually be ringing 999 now!
This is the NHS direct web page about chest pain in adults. Please follow it and see what it says

Morning, i followed the link and it said ring 999, but its not happened since Sunday evening though
tamirra ring the NHS number anyway , just to eliminate certain things and for peace of mind.

My mum has a doc app this morning so ive asked her to see what the doc thinks it could be, i will let you all know. Love to you all. xxxxx
how did it go?
Question Author
Hi to you all, but especially missrandom as you do seem quite concerned, well yeah mum asked the doc and he says next time i get this pain im to ring 999 as then they will come out to me with an ecg and be able to see if i have a heart defect, but he cant tell me without seeing me, but it does sound like my heart, i do thankyou all for being concerned and i will keep a check on myself, but im sorry to say i wont call 999 myself if im alone, only if im with someone will they then be called by them. love to you all and thankyou. xxxxxxx
why dont you go to your doc yourself, then you would be refered to consultant and he/she could do an ecg, theres a couple of diff ones they can do. if you dont sort it out you could have a full blown heart attack, it could be something as simple as taking some medication to prevent this. i really hope you follow it up, good luck xxx
Hey girl, stop messing and get yourself checked out. Your symptoms could be warning signs of impending heart attack luv. BTW r u on HRT? cos there is a slight risk it can cause heart probs. Think 'heart and health'. xx
