I went to a row of local shops this morning. They were all quite busy and apart from the assistants in them and me nobody was wearing a mask.
I don't believe I'm being over cautious. Are those shoppers being careless and risking their health?

yes they are, but seeing as how many don't seem to care, or are plain stupid one should just avoid them where possible, wear a mask sandy and protect yourself as much as possible
What they are ding is breaking the law - unless they are exempt, or have ' a reasonable excuse' not to wear one.

doing ^^
can't be that many people exempt to be fair. I only know that Boaoty is exempt as he has COPD. And wears an exemption badge
Unfortunately only the police have the power to enforce wearing of a mask, anyone else can only ask
shops can refuse you entry at any point.
They are stupid, be careful sandy. That’s all you can do .
i got as far as the door of Boots the chemist, no mask no entry. I did have one and entered said shop.
Its very strange that back in March when I kept saying that masks should be worn now before the virus took hold, nearly, (a guess of course) about 85% of posters on here said masks wouldn't make any difference. Now it seems everyone is concerned about the ones that are not wearing one.

even the expert jury is out on the effectiveness of "face coverings", which is what the law requires - if the law required medical or industrial grade masks that may be different - but the law doesn't doesn't.

as it stands a face covering does not protect the wearer - but it may protect others from the wearer.
back in march we didn't know as much as we do now.
The problem is also that - as far as I understand it - masks are more for the protection of other people from us rather than the other way about.
You're dead right Rosie, but don't that stop the spread?
13.35 I did!
wear one or don't, i know that i have to to get into any of the shops in my area. My hairdressers, waitrose, boots the chemist
the you knew more than the scientists put together. Its only in the last few months that the message is being hammered home.
The word is hordes!
