Yes, with local anaesthetic. The procedure is called Root Surface Debridement. You may be a bit sore afterwards, maybe with some tooth sensitivity, and possibly some bleeding when you floss or brush for short time afterwards.
I was knocked out - she told (dentist) said she said she never saw a worse mouth than mine. Also because of bad arteries she had to try me 6 times. Dont kid yourself it is very painful
