Arrhythmia Vs Benign Arrhythmia

can anyone tell me in simple terms the difference between these conditions?

Simplest answer seems to be that they are both variations in normal heartbeat, but that "benign arrhythmia" is nothing to worry about.

The term arrhythmia covers several different types of cardiac irregularity, benign arrhythmia is one of them (e.g. atrial fibrillation).

Well, I wouldn't call atrial fibrillation, necessarily "benign"

I don't recognise the term " benign arrhythmia" and i am not at all sure that it is a medical term.

I do not think that there is a difference....although if i did have to "choose" a description, I would favour Jim's reply.

I have given it further thought:

Benign arrhythmia...........won't kill you.
Non benign arrhythmias.......might.

I came across the term 'benign arrhythmia' on a travel insurance medical questionnaire, and if I don't find out the difference, I may not be covered.

OK..pinkerton, then you can fill the form in as "Benign Arrhythmia." as i assume that it is supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)
