Ive been prescribed Losartan for High Blood Pressure. My blood pressure was on average 140/90,which I think is borderline. I was on 25mg daily, which didn't help. So my GP upped the dose to 50mg. Starting to get worse side effects(been on Losartan for only 2 months. Will the side effects slowly go over a period of time?. Thinking of not taking medication and increasing exercise and changing diet for a month to see what difference this makes. Any advice please?

Would you not go and talk with your GP about this? Stopping taking a prescribed medicine doesn't seem a very good idea.
I agree - go to report side effects to GP, there are other meds you could try, BP is as you say not terribly raised but follow doctor's advice.
You do not mention what side effects you are experiencing and yes you may need to change your diet and take exercise.
Yes what side effects do you experience I would be interested to know as I have been taking losartan for years and haven't noticed any side effects.

HI,
Thanks everyone. To Brinjal, the main side effects are pains in arms and legs and nasel congestion. Think im not giving them enough time and need to be patient. Would like to know if anyone else has had nasel congestion whilst on Losartan, sometimes this affects my taste and smell
A friend of mine was on Losartan, her side effects were swollen lips and one side of face, after about a month of this her doctor changed them, put her on another BP pill and she was ok after that,

A not uncommon side efvfect of Losartan........I would go back to your doctor as other BP lowering tablets are available and possibly without side effects.

Would, in anyones opinion, the side effects go over a period of time?,and if so how long would it take?
I think 2 moths is long enough if it is making you miserable, to go back and discuss options.
Months, so sorry - just done eye drops. :-)
