I have a under active thyroid and am also having peri menopause symptoms as they are both similar symptoms could the doctors be confusing one with the other

i thought a thyroid problem appeared early in life, mine was diagnosed when i was about 30. i'm probably wrong maybe it can develop any time

my thyroid problem developed 3 years ago when I was 53 and they found out my Dad had an under active thyroid in his 70s
Your underactive thyroid diagnosis should have been based on the results of a blood test. You should be taking thyroxine, although the amount may need to be increased until your levels are normal.
