To all ladies out there who have been through this. I'm 41. My DR says that the blood tests he gave me indecate I am not have not started my menopause. But, especially today, I have had this feeling on and off of feeling very, very hot. Hubby said my skin feels cool but I feel like I'm on fire inside. Is this those hot flushes I've heard so much about. Have any of the ladies on AB had them and is what I describe the same thing. Thanks for your time.

I had a test for everything from menopause to thyroid but its none of them.

my mood and memory have been affected to.

do you drink a lot or take any drugs? That can cause it,side effects

Apart from the hot flushes, how are you generally? Weakness in the legs, arms, dizziness, vision impair etc...

More info...

Have you tried switching from dairy milk to soya?  I have under active thyroid, hot flushes etc (I am 50) and take soya tablets (Holland & Barrett do them) and Pure spread (soya spread) instead of margarine seems to help. Apparently Soya is a natural HRT. Don't go on HRT unless you really have to.

Sorry forgot to say - don't use soya in coffee instead of milk - it will curdle!  YOu can use organic milk for that.  I use soya in tea (it's not as sickly as dairy milk, an unusual taste but I like it) also use on cereal.  Buy unsweetened, Provamel is good, orange carton. also So Good.

I was diagnosed as going through menopause at 39 - blood tests confirmed it.7 yrs later I am almost there-thankfully!!

My personal symptoms of menopausal hot flushes are a flush starting in your head and travelling down your body-which goes pink and boy do you sweat and feel hot to the touch-night or day.Not the first time the shaeets have had to be changed at 3 in the morning.

The advice you have been given in previous postings sound like good advice to me.

Good Luck

I got the flushes and symptoms with a negative blood test. My doc thought that I had something nasty and neurological as I got dizzy spells as well. From conversation with others I think that the flush experience is very varied. At worst, I get an adrenalin surge first...heart pounds, stomach lurches, then I feel like I am heating up from the inside out, finally I go red and perspire. Little flushes just make me feel warm but it doesn't show from the outside. Looking back I believe that I was perimenopausal for about 18months before the symptoms got bad enough to see the doc. I had mood swings, put down to stress, memory lapses (ditto) joint aches (too much gardening) and the odd sensation of being too hot, but then I have never been a chilly person.

Its now 7 years since those first symptoms, (during which I have tried every treatment known to womankind with no lasting success. best one was progesterone cream which moderated things nicely for 2 and a half years but seems to have lost its effect) and no sign of let up.... (sigh)

i am 32 and i was getting lots of hot flushes, i put it down to my diet though, i am now on slimming world diet and touch wood, no hot flushes!!!! take a look at your diet, that may help!!!!
If it is menopause or pre-menopause then my mum swore by something called Black Kohosh. She got it from the health food shop and took it like a vitamin. it really seemed to help with the hot flushes.

I have hugh mood swings and the odd dizzy spell. But not much else. It's like the heat starts from the inside. I feel extremly hot. it's so uncomfortable. It comes and goes and some days it doesn't happen at all. I have to go to have some more tests this week to rule out Altzhiemers as my mother had it at an early age. My Dr did a full blood test as I said but could find nothing to account for it and this is the second time in a year he has done this.

Thanks for all your imput though.
