heartbreaking if you happen to own it
Well it is a bargain if you can afford to throw away 25K on a gamble - it could stay where it is in which case it is an absolute bargain.

I suspect that whoever buys it won't have to worry at losing 25K

It would be, yes. Hopefully, they're well insured.
I could think of better things to spend £400,000 on if I had £400,000, that is!
Even 25K, sorry, didn't pay attention!^^
Shame. It looks lovely
They say that a young couple who want to get on the housing market these days will have to save for decades. Given that an unfurnished two up two down around here rents for £1000+ per month which is dead money, the gamble of that house possibly lasting 3 years would pay off for someone trying to save on rent whilst saving for a deposit.

"The former owners of Tor Cottage have moved out and sold it to a firm which specialises in selling challenging homes."

They have to prove its safe though as there is a ban on staying overnight in it.
link not opening for me, but a shame if it does drop into the sea.
There's a few areas where this is happening around the UK though.
237SJ ... that would work if they could get permission to sleep in the property!
That would be fine but when you read the news article, there is court order on the house, preventing anyone who buys it from staying in it overnight.
It only says that potential buyers can`t sleep in the property.
That must be heartbreaking. Such a lovley house.
It has a ban on staying overnight: perfect for a night-shift worker then!
