As opposed to the other sort of problem.

The champers was opened too soon I'm afraid. The consultants explanation & diagnosis given to me today was that of ovarian cancer stage 1c.

Not quite the good news and the all-clear I thought on Tuesday, but could be a lot worse.

No chemo for now, just 3 monthly surveillance.

Fingers crossed for me x

Sqadlet, I have a question for you if you have the time x

Borderline ovarian cystic adenoma...stage 1..........95+ % chance of being alive in 10 years.

Now......we both know where we stand......what is your question?
Question Author
My question, And confusion, is what is the difference between ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma stage 1 and ovarian cancer stage 1c ??? I was led to believe the types of tumour are different?
Sorry to hear that but it's very early stage and you'll kick it's sorry ass from here to kingdom come. Hugs xx
salla.....OK....this is a clash of nomenclature between a histological diagnosis and a clinician....the clinician can be careless in his language.

You have a borderline ovarian mucinous cystadenoma stage1 which is histologically different and has a better prognosis than an Ovarian carcinoma stage 1.

You may have misunderstood him OR he was trying to make things simple for you.It is difficult to know at which level to pitch one's answer, without going "over their heads" or talking down to them.
This is the biggest problem that i have with AB.

The histology is quite clear, it is NOT an Ovarian carcinoma but a Borderline mucinous cystadenoma which acts quite differently and has a much better prognosis....roughly 95% chance of a 10 year survival.

Anything else?
