Exhaustion

Has anyone got any ideas on this? My daughter has intermittantly had for years a feeling of extreme wiped out exhaustion especially after exercise. She is mid fifties and has a mentally and physically hard job as a nurse on a neuro surgery ward. After years of disinterested doctors her present doctor is taking it seriously. Blood tests to date show high levels of creatine and very low levels of Vit D for which she has a prescription. Up until now she has been eating more or less a vegan diet except that she does eat cheese. Thankfully she has started to eat and enjoy fish. She has high b. p. which is being treated and I think she has to have further tests. What implications are there for these blood results? She is a non smoker and drinks socially but only maybe once or twice a week. Thanks for any views.

Thanks murraymints - good idea.
If I see him I'll direct him here Rosie..x
I would have thought it a little unusual to have high blood pressure on a vegetarian and fish diet. However, I guess there could be some arterial squeezes etc.....how does she sleep by the way?
Low levels of Vitamin C may well be the cause of her "exhaustion"....MAY....but not necessarily.

I can however see a link between high BP and high levels of blood creatinine and until the results of the "further tests" have come to hand, I will refuse to "speculate."

However, it does not seem a life threatening situation and, depending upon the blood results, eminently treatable.
She may be defficient in Vitamin B12-quite common in vegetarians and vegans.

She sleeps fairly well - a bit of a worrier - but who wouldn't be - she's single and money is very tight. Its such a shame - she has a wonderful presonality and, thankfully , some really good friends. I'm so grateful for all the replies. Very heartwarming.
anemia can cause fatigue which is common in vegans. Low Vit D can cause depression which goes right along with fatigue. Creatinine indicates kidney function which can fluctuate with the amount of protein in the diet as well. Blood tests will indicate if her diet and supplement intake needs to be modified by her physician. Best of luck!
I`ve got a vegetarian friend (lacto not vegan though) who is suffering from exhaustion. In her case I think the menupause might have something to do with it but she had blood tests and everything is OK except that she is deficient in vitamin D. She works in an office job and hates the cold so doesn`t go out walking at this time of year. She has been using moisuriser and foundation that contains a sun filter and the doctor told her that is not a good idea because it prevents her getting the vitamin D that she needs.
