I've set up a temporary email account to discuss with you the problems with my acceptance of my grandma's dementia.

Question Author
where abouts will I find it...I can't remember where it was - that doesn't sound promising LOL
Question Author
thanks DT - I shall be in touch after dinner if thats ok?
just e-mail me on that address and then I will switch you to my real one.
I'll be out from about 7.45 to 10 (I have to be back here to ensure the brain drug is taken!).
Question Author
thats ok I shall be here between 7-8 and then 9-whenever I hit the sack
But do send through an e-mail outlining your issues etc - I may come back with some clarification questions before making any comments etc - the very act of writing it all down can sometimes be a help in its own right, so pour it all out - and it only goes as far as me......Mum please note that!, unless you ask me for her help....
QoM - sorry to barge in uninvited (and please ignore me if you want - I won't take any offence).

DT (and several other respected ABers) have loads of practical/personal experience of coping with the impact that dementia has on the people close to the person with the illness.

I don't have that experience, but I worked for many years for the Alzheimers Society and my local County Council as an trainer/expert in dementia information and care. If I can help in any way I will - particularly if you have specific questions about the illness - extra knowledge can sometimes be very useful in addressing the emotional issues surrounding dementia.

Cheers

will do - i'm good with essay emails so it may be a biggie. If there is anything that you may need to discuss with her at any point then feel free to ask her
ok but we will clarify what if anything goes forward and dave, I note your address to. I am keeping a diary as a basis to a potential book to pull together all the different strands and with some of the lighter stories as there is humour in all of this, something QoM may not realise and, boy, do we carers need it!
and no problem with length - if you saw some of the writing that I see on a professional basis, and almost daily!!
Question Author
No its ok SD - any help/advice that can be thrown in my direction would be greatly appreciated.
c.c. dave in if you wish, QoM......
